So this is back to being my personal blog, and I now have a LJ, which is my ficblog, and my groupblog, which is...my groupblog. I was on vacation until today, at home. Now I have to do an essay, which I continue to avoid. I need to kick my damn self in the pants so I'll do the paper; I'm being unhealthy. Charmian mentioned the yaoi versus slash issue a few days ago...I guess my viewpoint is weird. ("Yaoi" here is the undefined American-fan-use instance of the term, not the dictionary instance). For me, it's stylistic; show me a fic and I can tell you whether it's yaoi or slash after I read it. Yaoi is generally less concerned with canon and more concerned with pretty boys that look good together; I think it's because yaoi attitudes come from doujinshi, a visual medium. Canon wars and issues of canon in fanwork seem to be a western issue, given what I've heard from everyone who's been to Japan and seen the Jfandom. Anyhoo.
